• Sessions happen over video and are recorded automatically, so families can feel comfortable and so we can check in on session quality and support you.
• You'll be told at the start of every session that it's being recorded.
• Recordings are kept private. Only IvyUp's founders can view them, and they're deleted after a set period.
• Families also agree to recording when they sign up.

• You'd work with students, so we may ask for a background check before your first client.
• It would be run by a third-party provider. You'd give your personal details (like date of birth) directly to that provider, never through this form.
• We'll tell you before it happens and explain what to expect.

What "independent contractor" means:

• Taxes: IvyUp reports what we pay you on a Form 1099-NEC, not a W-2. No taxes are withheld from your pay, so you're responsible for your own income and self-employment taxes.
• Control: you decide how much you work, when you work (within the availability you give us), and how you run your sessions. You're running your own tutoring work, not following an employer's schedule.
• Benefits: contractors don't get employee benefits like paid time off or health insurance.
• Work isn't guaranteed: IvyUp matches you with families based on demand and fit, so there's no guaranteed number of clients or hours.
• The full terms, including pay, are in the written tutor agreement you'd sign before starting.

• Families find you through IvyUp, and IvyUp handles matching, scheduling, payment, and replacements if a match isn't working out.
• In return, the tutor agreement will ask you not to take IvyUp families as private clients outside of IvyUp.
